Our Story

The Haitian Academy is a private, coeducational, College Preparatory American school founded in New York, U.S.A. operating presently in Haiti. Our learning community very diversely comprised of students from the U.S., Port-Au-Prince and staff from the U.S., South America, and Haiti.

The Haitian Academy Classical school is composed of two sections: an American section in English, and a Haitian section in French, Creole and English.”

In the American section, students are enrolled in Preschool (2, 3 and 4 years old), Elementary School (kindergarten – 6th grade), Middle School (7th, and 8th grades) and High School (9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grades). The American section follows the curriculum of the New York Board of Education.

In the Haitian section, students are enrolled in Preschool (2, 3 and 4 years old), Elementary (1er and 2e cycle et 3e cycle Fondamentale), Middle School(7th, 8th, 9th year) and the Secondary ( 3e, 2nd, Rheto, Philo). The Haitian section follows the curriculum of the Ministry of National Education of Haiti with an international emphasis.

The Haitian Academy is a non-profit organization, founded in Brooklyn, New York in 1979. Since 1990, our campus has been located 25km North of Port-Au-Prince on Route National #1.
